Apostle H.L. McGowan, Sr., the man of faith, is the faithful husband of Dr. Lucille McGowan and a loving father of six children, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also the Founder of God's House of Deliverance Holiness Churches Worldwide Ministries, Inc.

Apostle McGowan began his ministry as a faithful deacon of God's Prayer House of Dallas, TX. Later he gave birth to pasturing in 1974. During that same year, while in a revival service that he was visiting, he was recognized and offered a position as a pastor in the city of Athens, Texas. Apostle McGowan, after about two years, moved back to Dallas, Texas. He and his wife held services in their own hired house until they rented a building in Hutchins, Texas and he then named the ministry, God's House of Deliverance Holiness Church.

Later in his ministry God used Apostle McGowan to birth many pastors and ministers.  Since then he has become the Founder and Chief Apostle of God's House of Deliverance Holiness Churches, Inc., which is an organization of churches, ministries, pastors and field workers around the world. This ministry is an established worldwide organization that includes churches, bible institutes, shelters, a rehabilitation ministry, and a homeless ministry.

Apostle McGowan's objective in ministry is to win as many souls for Christ as God allows and by the grace and power of God, Apostle McGowan is doing just that. By preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he has seen many souls saved and filled with the Holy Ghost, delivered, healed and many miracles wrought during his assignment. Many saints have also been strengthened and revived through the ministry and leadership of the Apostle H.L. McGowan, Sr.
